  are you of the mind that all men and all women are basically the same?

  you know---all men just have one thing on their mind or all women are just users?

  there's so much stereotyping when it comes to males and females...typical man, typical woman.

  heh, let me add to the fire. on a primitive level, men come down to this: consistantly trying to get laid by the most attactive female in the vacinity. constantly trying to 'one up' their friends or their last 'laye' so they can rein supreme in the world of sex! (course, half the time they dont' see that bored look in the woman's eyes while they are pumping away!)

  women however, base their choice's of the opposite (or sometimes, same) sex on status. as much as they will disagree, there is a little chip in the back of their head and subconscience that constantly will make them enquire into their possible life-mate's status. whether it be job, car, money, security or simply if he is the most dominant male in his heard.

  i've heard all my life, that anytime something good happened, we should thank jehovah for doing it.

  if something bad happened, like being attacked by the "demons", it was because a person didn't have the complete "suit of armor" from god.

  i know many of the "friends" that credit jehovah god for giving them a sunny morning, a pay raise at work or an end to their cough and cold.....were you one of those that believed jehovah was behind everything that happened in your life?

  now, yes, they claim it's that way now. however, just wait til something you believe in gets tained as harmful to both church and government. you don't think they won't join up to eradicate it? be serious here.

  if a belief or whatever comes up and the church disproves of it, and the government believes it to be threatening to their power, they will immediately listen to the church and follow what it says. of course, that doesn't necessarily mean in every occasion, but seriously, the church has loads more power than you are led to believe. and also, if the government ok's something that the church feels strongly against, you better believe there will be an uproar and the gov't WILL back down in the long run.

  really? the catholic church has been sponsoring arts and music for some time? yeah, stuff THEY feel is appropriate. Who are THEY to dictate to anyone what is appropriate and what is not?

  and no, religion has not brought the world as much good as bad. the base of religion has brought good ie: ten commandments or golden rule. but religion as a whole has brought nothing but bad to this world. war, homophobia, persecution (on either end), prejudice, and not to mention greed - a great deal of greed.

  examples of these: war > just about any war has religion as a base of it. either encouraging it, or causing it. take this whole US vs Iraq thing.

  homophobia > gays and lesbians are a mortal sin? so sexual preference is dictated by religion?

  persecution > nazi's are a perfect example of that

  prejudice > whether it's race, sex, dress or thought, religion tries to control this all to some decree

  greed > hello, how much money does each and every church rake in week after week?

  spunky chick, although my name is 'god is dead' i don't truely believe god is dead, because then i would have to agree that he existed, and i don't. however, thank you for your acceptance and i would love to chat w you in the future considering we have similar ideals.

  englishman, i understand which post you are refering to, however, those lyrics are metaphors to what religion does to people. it's not hate speech, and although it swears, i think the methaphors are quite true. but, whatever, if you feel you need to delete it, than so be it.
